Teaching awards
Zoë has been a member of the teaching profession for six years and has quickly become a leading light at North Kesteven School. It is said she has both the ‘wow’ and the ‘x’ factor rolled into one!
A teacher of science, Zoë is dedicated to providing a curriculum that is innovative, creative and exciting. Her laboratory is literally alive with stimuli from wall to ceiling. As one student said: ‘Science will never be the same again because we simply don’t know what she is going to come up with next.’
A typical example might mean finding this teacher on her hands and knees, offering students electric shocks and asking them if they have seen that gorilla – don’t ask Teaching Awards to explain, contact Zoë!
Unsurprisingly Zoë sailed through her Advanced Skills Teacher assessment and, as well as working on her MSc, she is dedicated to helping to put the school on the map nationally through her work as a National Leading Practitioner in Creative Learning in Science.
Without doubt she is a shining example of a young and dedicated teacher. As Teaching Awards judges commented: ‘Her Headteacher is justifiably proud to have Zoë as part of a fantastic school team. She is a tremendous asset, driving forward initiatives at an ever-increasing pace with nothing less than passion, commitment and complete professionalism. We consider her a beacon of excellence.’
